Today, we started the class by watching a lecture on how to
make textures and blend them together. We were supposed
to make phone covers. First we picked a texture and made it
black and white. I had to fix the levels on my picture because
they were not really distinct in black or white, rather than gray.
After adding the mask of the texture, we laid down the gradient
and adjusted the hues to make really cool effects. We did this
with two other textures. At the end, we added effects that made
textures pop out. We masked it in order to add it as a design for
the phone cover. I finished working on my yearbook. I added the
"2013" in a font i downloaded from dafont.com. I added a filter
to the background to give it texture. Lastly, I added text that
read "Richland Collegiate High School". It stayed pretty cool.

Thursday
Yesterday, I started working on my yearbook cover. I did not really have
an idea for it, so most of the class time, I was looking for inspiration.
After finding a couple of pictures about space and stars, I picked one
as my background. I chose to keep it really simple and incorporate
shapes of the school colors. THEN, we had to go take pictures for the
yearbook. After I came back, I started adding shapes to my pictures,
and blending the shapes with the background using the opacity levels.

Wednesday
When I came back on the third day, I continued to work on my movie poster.
I had to restart from scratch because my computer turned off with all of my
work being deleted. I did the levels of the original first. After that, I masked
out the background and kept only my body and head. I then selected my
dark red shirt and changed the hue to a lighter blue color to match the movie poster.
As for the background, I added a circular orange and white gradient effect.
After I finished my picture, I added text for the title of my recreated poster.

Tuesday- SNOW DAY
I didn't go to school on Tuesday, because I didn't want to drive on ice.
Fell asleep all day instead. :)

Monday- Week 2
On Monday, we began looking at pictures of movie covers and movie posters.
The whole class was supposed to pick a movie that they wanted to recreate on
photoshop. After we picked out our picture, we got in groups and went out to
take pictures. We needed to take pictures that resembled the poster we were
copying, so we had to be in the same pose. We took pictures and the rest of the
class, we worked on fixing the saturation and contrast levels of the original picture.

Friday
Today, I finished up my other two pictures that I had started
on Thursday. Yesterday, I finished my asymmetrical image, and
today, I worked on my symmetrical and radial images. I found
my radial image a bit harder because you constantly have to
make a new circular path and adding text to it. For my
symmetrical image, I masked out the background, making the
image over a white background. I then added a picture of my
clothes and added text around it. I did that by selecting my
image and adding a work path. After that I just typed out
what I wanted to say.

Thursday
On Thursday, we had a lecture about the technique of symmetry.
In class, we took pictures of examples of symmetrical, asymmetrical,
and radial images. In the first picture, I selected my image and masked it.
I had a black background. The assignment was to take up half of the
image with my face and the other half with words. I created a path
and then added text to it using the text tool and a cool font.

Wednesday
On Wednesday, we had a lecture about the primary colors
which are red, blue, and yellow. The professor took pictures
of students in the class in a funny pose. Our assignment was to
edit the picture using the primary colors. The image needed to
include "Student Life", shapes, filters and saturation. I took the
picture and duplicated the image a couple of times. I added shapes
and had the picture on a white background.

Tuesday
On Tuesday, we learned about Hi-key and Low-key pictures.
We went out and took pictures in a place with alot of light, and then
took a picture in the dark. We manipulated the way the light would
hit the object to give the face more values and different shades.
On photoshop, we learned how to select a picture and add a mask to
take out the background. After that we played around with the contrast
and levels of the pictures. The effects made the picture have a lot of
depth and the light gave it direction.

Monday, First Day
On Monday the 7th, we touched up a picture of a girl using Photoshop.
We removed blemishes with the healing brush and the spot healing brush.
We fixed her smile using the saturation and contrast in the yellow color.
On the picture, we also "plucked" out her eyebrows. We used tools like the
sponge brush, the clone stamp tool, the burn tool, and the smudge brush.
We used the clone stamp to make a copy of the left eye and move it right.
We did not change her complete appearance, but we just adjusted some
of the features in her face, like her smile and skin tone.
